Chris Bradshaw, PhD, LPC

Chris Bradshaw is a psychologist, writer, and Arizona-based licensed professional counselor in private practice. 
Chris is under contract with University Professors Press as co-editor of the forthcoming book “Existential Psychology in Cross-Cultural Contexts,” which explores the development and nuances of existential therapy around the world. He writes a blog for Psychology Today titled “The Existential Station: Fuel for Presence, Meaning, Awe, and Transcendence.”  Chris co-wrote a chapter on “therapeutic presence” for a forthcoming book from the American Psychological Association (APA) on the evidence-based foundations of Existential-Humanistic Psychotherapy.
A PhD candidate in clinical psychology at Saybrook University wrapping up his dissertation (a mixed-methods study on the client experience of therapeutic presence), Chris completed a concentration in Existential-Humanistic Psychology and was awarded the Rollo May scholarship. 
He completed foundational training at the Existential-Humanistic Institute (EHI), an experience which deeply impacted him as a human and as a psychotherapist. He currently pursues a deepening experiential training process with EHI which includes assisting in teaching. In addition to his EH work, Chris practices Somatic Experiencing (SE) and is wrapping up formal advanced experiential training in this approach in late 2024.  
After working in public-school education for several years, Chris started his journey in the mental health field in 2011 and has served in a range of clinical, leadership, and community engagement roles. For example, he managed large Medicaid funded treatment clinics in Tucson, Arizona and supervised an interdisciplinary team of over twenty employees. Chris enjoys writing, reading, comedy, meditation, yoga, dance, hiking the desert mountains of Tucson, and diverse music and art.
